The Bitterroot Blasters Youth Shotgun team was established in 2014 with a humble beginning of just six kids and four dedicated volunteer coaches. Since then, our team has flourished, evolving into a community of forty athletes and fourteen certified and passionate volunteer coaches. We have a dynamic group of athletes ranging from 10 years old to college aged students.
Our season runs from mid-March to June, focusing on fundamental clay shooting, firearm and range safety, and sportsmanship. Unlike some teams, we operate primarily from our home base, the Bitterroot Sporting Club (formally known as the Hamilton Trap Club). Our supportive environment encourages our athletes to participate in shoots should they desire to further enhance their skills and experience.
We prioritize a family-oriented atmosphere, encouraging our athletes to engage in community volunteer opportunities.
Our team’s operations are made possible through the generous support of various entities, including the Midway USA Foundation, grants from Friends of the NRA, sponsorship contributions, and proceeds from our annual fundraising shoot to end our year. This vital support is the cornerstone of our team’s sustainability, enabling us to continue to provide valuable opportunities to our athletes. We are immensely grateful for the unwavering support that ensures the success of our team.
